  • Tin-TRAC will conduct the following activities to generate the corresponding results
  • The foreseen outcomes of the project will be posted in this web-page during the project implementation lifetime.

TinWise Activities

Creation of a comprehensive web-based survey targeting tinnitus patients across Europe. Gather information regarding sociodemographic and tinnitus-related variables, the healthcare and tinnitus-related health literacy, as well as educational and healthcare-related needs and expectations of the patients. Implementation of the survey to gather valuable insights into patients' requirements and preferences.
Analysis of survey results to pinpoint key areas of low health literacy.

Objective: Engage patients in the co-creation process to ensure games are tailored to their needs.
Content: Formation of a diverse patient group for co-development. Collaboration with tinnitus patients to co-create three games for the gamified health literacy platform. Iterative development and optimization based on patient feedback. Integration of game content into the TinWise platform for enhanced health literacy. Conducting a co-creative session to gather patient input on game design, difficulty levels, and engagement factors. Collaborative discussions on content, structure, and visual elements. Collection of feedback for iterative refinement

Objective: Empower patients with skills to effectively use health literacy resources.
Content: Design and delivery of a training session on navigating and utilizing the gamified health literacy platform. Instruction on the effective use of resources for managing tinnitus. Interactive sessions for hands-on learning. Provision of educational materials and resources for ongoing patient support.

Three web-based games will be designed and developed through the Unity game engine based on user stories created in WP2. The aim is to enhance health literacy by providing an entertaining learning experience. Following the full development of the games, user data will be collected to evaluate effectiveness and useability. Development will be conducted at CYENS, with parts of the evaluation process accessible remotely

To establish a backend database within the platform for storing personal information and facilitating personalized communication among patients and users (NGNC). Content: Development will focus on creating a robust backend database that ensures secure storage of personal information. The service will offer users the option, with their consent, to share personal information with others on the platform

To create an automated chatbot offering support to tinnitus patients through the messaging platform (NGNC). Content: The chatbot will be designed to access information from databases or external sources, providing responses to user inquiries. Advanced features include incorporating natural language processing (NLP) capabilities for real-time translation between different languages

Objective: To educate health professionals on the effective utilization of chatbots in daily interactions with patients (NTUA).
Content: Training events will be organized, focusing on the design, management, and implementation of methodologies tailored to the practices of healthcare professionals. Practical knowledge and skills will be shared to enable professionals to integrate these tools seamlessly into their routine interactions with patients. These activities collectively contribute to achieving the objectives of WP3, ensuring the development and implementation of effective digital tools and resources within the TinWis.

This activity involves creating a unified and comprehensive health literacy platform. Content: It encompasses the development of a robust database, back-end, and front-end interfaces to ensure seamless integration of digital content. The platform supports multiple formats and languages to cater for the diverse learning styles and preferences. It aims to serve as a central hub for health literacy resources, enhancing accessibility and usability for both professionals and patients.

This activity focuses on integrating Reusable Learning Objects (RLOs) into the TinWise and TinTRAC platforms. Content: It includes programming tasks and resource allocation to seamlessly incorporate RLOs, targeting health professionals. The integration aims to enhance the existing platforms with tailored health literacy content, providing a valuable resource for healthcare practitioners

Objective: This learning and teaching session concentrates on empowering health professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop health literacy solutions.
Content: Following the blueprint of TinWise, the activity involves co-creative sessions where professionals actively participate in the design and development of solutions. Tools and knowledge on how to develop and use health literacy resources in their every-day work are presented and collectively during the session we develop a small version of such a solution for a chronic disease. The session, conducted in a hybrid format, ensures widespread participation, promoting both quality and cost-effectiveness in training

Create 5 Reusable Learning Objects for Clinicians focusing on promoting self-help through digital means in chronic disorders. A co-creative session will be held to identify the content topics, and their form, a developing period will be consumed to create the content and a second co-creative session will be held to evaluate the output. The RLOs will be incorporated in the e-Learning platform Tin-TRAC, bridging the two projects

Produce a comprehensive manual based on co-creative processes respecting patient needs. It will be developed through collaborative work of researchers lead by UCY and provide a structured guide for the development of digital health literacy resources.

Conduct a training event to educate health professionals on the significance of health literacy and the active involvement of patients in managing their conditions. Content will be developed by UCY expert researchers based on existing learning resources utilized in Psychology Department’s courses. The event will be held in Cyprus.

Organize a training event focused on teaching health professionals the co-creation of gamified interventions for health literacy. Content will be developed by CYENS expert researchers based on existing learning resources developed by CYENS. The event will be held in Cyprus and invite clinicians interested in managing chronic conditions.

Ensure coordination

Conduct 3 hybrid multiplier events across participating countries for broad dissemination. It will invite patients, clinicians, researchers and stakeholders of each country, disseminating project outcomes widely, and ensuring that the developed resources reach a diverse audience
